Other
Types of Financial Aid
Cooperative Education (Co-op)
Cooperative Education (Co-op) programs place you in a job related
to your degree program, for which you earn wages while you continue
to attend regular classes. This program is open to any student,
regardless of financial need.
Employer Tuition Remission
Many employers pay all or part of tuition costs for employees, and,
in some cases, employees' spouses.
If you now hold a full- or part-time job, check with your employer's
human resources office. As most employer programs are reimbursement
plans, you are responsible for payment to the University of your
tuition and fees as indicated on your billing statements.
If the student qualifies for Temple University tuition remission,
either as a University employee dependent or as a University employee,
Student Financial Services must be notified so that the benefit
amount can be taken into account when calculating an offer of aid.
Tuition remission eligibility may result in a revision of previously
offered financial aid.
Market share
The financial services industry constitutes the largest group of
companies in the world in terms of earnings and equity market cap.
However it is not the largest category in terms of revenue or number
of employees.
It is also a slow growing and extremely fragmented industry, with
the largest company (Citigroup), only having a 3 % US market share.
In contrast, the largest home improvement store in the US, Home
Depot, has a 30 % market share, and the largest coffee house Starbucks
has a 32 % market share, etc.
Despite this fragmentation, financial service companies as a group
are by far the most profitable in the world, and if any grew to
the same market share percentages as any other retail industry,
the potential profit would be brobdingnagian.
